Baltimore Ravens Tickets - Draft Analysis
Filed Under Football | Comments Off
Brent Warnken asked:
Baltimore Ravens tickets don’t ever really need to get a boost in popularity. They always seem to be the most sought-after tickets in Baltimore. However, they just got a boost in appeal after the NFL Draft. The Ravens picked up some very good college graduates, and these rookies will certainly help the team in the upcoming season. But will they be a help to the parts of the team that were already pretty good? Or will the Ravens be aided in areas where the stats needed improvement in 2007? Let’s go over the ways that the new players will help the Ravens. Then, when you’re convinced that the Ravens will be a playoff team next season, you can get some Baltimore Ravens tickets for their upcoming games.
The ravens picked up Joe Flacco as their first pick in the NFL Draft. This quarterback out of Delaware was generally considered a good pick for the Ravens, as they have been searching for that franchise QB for some time. Flacco might be the guy. You can see why with the stats from last season. The Ravens quarterbacks (Kyle Boller, Steve McNair, Troy Smith and Mark Clayton) only threw 14 total interceptions last year, which was ahead of the curve for NFL teams. However, passing yardage for the team topped out at 3,035 yards, which was below average. Will Joe start next season? Or will one of the other QBs on the roster get the call? It will be an interesting offseason training camp.
The second player the Ravens picked up was Ray Rice, a running back from Rutgers. He was selected in the 2nd round, No. 55 overall. As you might know, the Ravens gained 1,797 yards on the ground, which was directly in the middle (16th). There were clearly problems on the offensive side of the ball, and they showed up in the stats. The Ravens lost a total of 26 balls to fumbles (ranked last in the league). This lead to an overall turnover differential of -17. Will Rice hold onto the ball? He did in college, but then again, he hasn’t played against the NFL linebackers and linemen that he will face in the big league. Even if he has some struggles early on, it would be hard to be a detriment in this category, considering where the Ravens are coming from.
Overall, we can see that the Ravens were pretty happy with their defense from last season, which is why they went after offense in the Draft. You should get Baltimore Ravens tickets for next year expecting to see a lot more Ravens touchdowns.
